We bought a pair of Sactional seats used for $1k. And I'm delighted that we did because we hate how uncomfortable it is for us. If you're thinking about dropping 10k+ on a Sactional set, keep your eyes open for used and even consider doing what we did and trialing a smaller section first.
There doesn't seem to be a ratelimit on your most expensive ressource, the mp3 files on AWS. I checked with cURL, you can do the same. For this web app you should ratelimit the ressource aggressively because of how the game works.
I'm pretty sure I recall hearing that if you cut features that are too thin in Delerin, it gets too hot and catches fire easily. I don't think you were allowed to cut it at the maker space I was at. But it's been like 7 years so I could be fuzzy on that.
That's one of the reasons I started with this article in the first place: there is so much knowledge about all of this stuff floating around but it is very fragmented. I wanted to have a single notebook for myself to keep track of what I've figured out, what works and what does not and then it seemed a natural to share it with others. Over time I intend to keep fleshing it out.
We had one (Stiebel Eltron 36KW) installed earlier this year which required a service upgrade to 320A service. AMA, though responses may be delayed a day or two.
Our all-electric home's max instantaneous draw over the last a couple months peaked around 44 kW.
Just saw this, I would recommend going the heat pump route.
In retrospect, it's insane to get an electric tankless hot water heater from a climate perspective. Gas tankless makes infinitely more sense if you need limitless hot water. If you don't need limitless, heat pump would be the most emissions efficient.
I'll try to get my usage data together and update this comment.
Edit: Cost of usage electric and gas over the last five years. The big spike last winter was due to our remodel and heating the whole house while it was neither sealed nor insulated in the middle of winter with just the 10kWh furnace backup heater which ran almost non-stop. Units are USD. The two gaps in data are due to meter replacements, I think. https://imgur.com/AVTFwpP
It's kind of hard to compare the data since we re-insulated, went from gas furance to heat pump, and added a hot tub.
The Aqara temperature sensors[0] wouldn't stay connected to my SkyConnect USB dongle. No issues with my Zigbee switch and thermostats though, so I think some vendors aren't fully Zigbee compliant but it's probably the exception.
I've had great results with their buttons/light switches and Home Assistant Yellow, and the SkyConnect prior to that, for what its worth. I especially like the PoE version of Home Assistant Yellow - can power the entire server from its ethernet port.
I'm not who you asked, but I replaced my baseboard heater thermostats with the Sinope Zigbee ones and have been very happy with them. I think their products only work with heating systems though, not heat + A/C.
I had a pair of white Denon Wireless Earbuds that I tried to sell on Facebook Marketplace, still in shrink and with my own photos. They were kicked off as counterfeit items, presumably because I described them as knockoff Air Pods and that triggered some filter. I wonder if Apple is also coaching classified ad sides with the same trademark messaging they're giving CBP?
If Facebook didn't immediately block sales of items self-described as knockoff <whatever brand>, they'd be (rightly) criticised for allowing the sale of counterfeit goods
Is it a counterfeit if it's advertised as such? The harm of counterfeits is only when they're being passed off as the real thing. If the buyer is aware that it's counterfeit what's the issue?
That you’re cutting into the sales of the legitimate item and the buyer could easily sell on the counterfeit to an unwitting buyer. The protection does not solely exist for the benefit of consumers.
Why's that? For example, wouldn't you describe any rotomolded cooler as a knockoff Yeti? To me, that doesn't seem to comment on the legit vs. counterfeit nature of the cooler, it just anchors the viewer's expectation.
Is there some special protection (in the USA) given to describing something as a "knockoff" versus "similar to"?
Isn't the problem with hydrogen that it's harder to store? I thought it was a big problem. Keeping it from leaking out of storage vessels and pipes because the molecule is so small.
Hydrogen can be stored underground just like methane can (and is). Also, the problems with hydrogen are overstated. The world economy does use many millions of tonnes of hydrogen each year, so the problems are demonstrably solvable.
