That's a really good tip to screen

I enjoyed the app. I was disappointed when they closed it because they couldn't find a revenue stream.

This is exactly what I remembered and I started buying FB under $20.

People said they couldn’t make any money, but my thinking was “they have a billion eyeballs, they’ll figure it out.”

I feel the same about Reddit.

Facebook created the Feed and then figured out how to run ads on it in a way that didn't annoy users too much, combined with the laser targeting available thanks to detailed profiles and likes/follows.

Reddit does not have this, and despite years of trying new stuff, can't seem to create anything equivalent. The best they've come up with is selling users' creations for LLM training, and that has limited range with how many equal sources there are. Many of which are free.

Reddit tried ads in many forms. It didn't seem to make it rain though.

I used https://gethuman.com/ for a long time, which would describe numbers or phrases you can say to get to the operator.

Great idea to have a bot do the work of waiting.

How did you build 20+ products?

I'm trying to build one but cant get over the paralysis.

Any tips?

very simple. as you see in this post, 3 products used to grow the main products are also my products. So basically I build products to solve my own pains and problems. Every day I get new problems, I solve them manually first, then I turn this solution into a product, use it for myself, iterate, once Im happy I let other founders try it and that's how the new product is being born

Small detail, there's a picture of macarons and not macaroons.

A macaron is a sandwich-like cookie that's filled with jam, ganache, or buttercream. A macaroon is a drop cookie made using shredded coconut.

Macaroon is just the English word for the French word macaron.

Macaroon is a completely different confectionery: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macaroon

Sure, but Macarons (the burger-looking things) are also sometimes known as "macaroons". Yeah.

The fact that people say it doesn't make it any less wrong. :)

If enough people do it for long enough, it does. After all, that's how we got the rest of the words.

The joys and woes of ever-evolving language / culture

To the persistent victor…

The people in your 3 examples are wrong.

And Macaron is the French word for Macaroni. Think how that makes the Italians feel.

Don't let anyone try to convince you that up is down. Word was spelled wrong. Period.

Wow, great info. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a great idea. Are you guys hiring?

Thank you for the interest! We're too early stage to start hiring right now. Let's stay in touch for now, can you DM me?

For anyone else that's interested in getting involved - we have some open-source libraries that we'll work to make more accessible for contributions down the line. Stay tuned for updates, and appreciate the interest!

Great product, good luck!

I have the same dream, but haven't taken the leap.

Thanks! What part of the journey are you in at this stage?

Yes, I've been using GPT2 for quite a while before, but ChatGPT as an app really did feel like an overnight success.

It quite literally was. It had some of the fastest growing user growth ever. There was something like a million new users just days after ChatGPT launch.
