Why shouldn't Agriculture scale with population? Presumably a larger population involves more food being sold in the US (and grown in the US if the share of exports/imports remains the same).

I would prefer to date an averagely-physical-attractive person whom I enjoy spending time with than a very physically attractive person whose personality I dislike.

Hm, 57% of first marriages not "failing" (presumably meaning that they last until one spouse dies) actually seems kind of comforting? It suggests that you and your spouse don't even have to be better at marriage than the median couple to avoid divorce.

The population of East Germany in 1990 was 16 million, while the population of the UK today is over 4 times larger at 68 million.

(I still don't think the UK should jail people for being hateful online, though.)

The second link is in Canada.

"New Westminster, British Columbia" lol. It looked nothing like the UK but at least they didn't plump for Colombia!

Anyway, here is a real British one:

I don't think it's that uncommon especially when crossing rivers because roads typically run along the river bank. A lot of roads and field boundaries were set down 1000s of years ago.

The British way is that so long as you put up big 'ol black and white arrows then 90° is child's play, it could be a 180° hairpin. I don't drive much but I hated multi-story-car-park-spiral ramps that for four floors would be a 1560° turn at full lock in a small car. Feels like I am failing astronaut training as my stomach turns over.

There's been a bridge there since the 13th century, and the current bridge is a listed structure built 1857. It's not really something you'd choose to build today.

That is my mistake, very sorry for that. Apparently that changed all the way back in 1867. Oops.

I'm 20, and I vaguely remember using 10.5 or 10.6 when I was a young child, so nostalgia I guess?

I had nostalgia for the original Macintosh GUI, whose look was similar to 'flat design'.

The submission does explain PS, though! They said it means "peace" as in "charge for peace".

I am not sure biology is not a "hard science"?

I know. I questioned that word choice, but it's sort of a play on words - as most of the biological things that I ended up doing are soft and squishy :)

Really? It seems like there's already plenty of non-reproductive sex happening! Leaving aside condoms and non-PIV sex acts, there are lots of women on birth control, men who have vasectomies, post-menopausal women, and infertile people in the world, who could certainly have lots of unprotected sex without any reproduction. Those people seem way better off than heroin addicts!

Time will tell.

My SF-born mother also often calls it "The City" (though this is 3 syllables).
