I had presumed the Gigafactory is near Reno because it's on a trainline in a minimally taxed state and proximate to the Tesla factory (NUMMI in Fremont).

I wonder if this lithium deposit was also a factor.

I wonder how many government officials own shares in this company. A number of these firms have risen dramatically in value recently.
