Great to see some improvements on that front. CloudFormation is perfect for point-and-click install of third-party software (like mine [1]), but the slowness doesn't make for a great first impression when setting everything up.
Really good thing is the declarative nature of it. When you release upgrades to AWS accounts where you don't have any control, this makes everything safer (and simpler to manage).
