Youtube lost the comments war years ago. More than 90% of videos are marketing techniques to attract watchers to bring their money. There are too much ads, comments are from bots such us likes, subscribers. Seems like instagram, fb, tw. Another network to avoid. And if you don't like ads, buy a subscription...for fake videos. Are we all idiots?

Youtube is largely for entertainment purposes for me. I avoid the ads in videos by using M$ Edge with UBlock Origin.

What Youtube videos do folks find valuable? I actually like listening to some of the Mac ones like Max Tech and Luke Miani but they are there for the views which is fine but I think they are entertaining nonetheless.

Bro YouTube comments have never had any value other than maybe financial value for the content creators

Was it ever anything else? I remember an XKCD from like 15 years ago joking about how awful YouTube comments were.
