A Fauci hatchet job is a waste of ink. There's lots more richly deserving targets. He's universally admired by experts in his field for many years of high quality public service. If you want to blame somebody for poor pandemic response, there's a much more obvious person to go after.

The article manages to entirely fail to note that all capable people who went against Trump eventually got fired. Trump even wanted Pence to be killed for simply opening envelopes and counting the results.

The article argues that being fired (or ideally resigning) is preferable to appearing to be happy with unacceptable circumstances. If his influence was minimal, the article argues there was little point being at the table

The main criticism is that he was not being honest with the public.
